Goodbye 2006
2006…
I’ve loved and lost.
I’ve cried and fell.
I’ve had my heart shattered, and dreams broken.
I’ve lied and betrayed.
I’ve forgive and forget.
I’ve met many great people.
I’ve many people who would love me.
I’ve grew stronger and tougher.
I’ve started my dreams, but it didn’t happen.
I wish I could, but I have no choice.
I’ve found my direction, and moved on.

Life should be taken with a pinch of salt, a slice of lemon and a bottle of tequila
As I was typing this, I looked back at my old journal.
In 2001, I spent Christmas with my best friend Sheila, with our other mates. We went to Beach Club. Back then I was young and naïve, drinking was a secondary. I cannot dance seductively, and have no intentions of even picking up guys.
2002, I went to Genting Highlands with my ex bf. To me, it was romamntic, as it was my first time getting away from the city with my ‘boyfriend’. I strategized for one week, on "How-To-Lie-To-Your-Mom". Everything went great, until today, mom still thinks i went with 5 other girlfriends.
In 2003, I celebrated Christmas in Melbourne, and I was with my ex too. (Yes, it was the same ex) Christmas in Melbourne was one of the best Christmas ever. And I had the best gift anyone could ever give me. But he wasn’t the right man for me.
In 2004, I’m back in Malaysia and hating it, and as I picked up drinking custom in Australia, I partied all night long in Bar Flam. Called Brent for 76mins, drunk, and phone bill cost me a bomb!
Last year, I had a quiet one, with some friends in Nisa’s place. We had steamboat, wine, dvd. The height of the night was I actually followed Henny to Catholic Church for mass!!
Looking back, I am truly blessed to have friends around me. I am loved and pampered. I have lost ‘some’ old friends but at the same time, I gained many new friends. My best friends stayed with me, and together we grew.

On Christmas Eve, I am blessed with another great year to spend Christmas with fantastic friends. Ironically, I met them on an online business networking forum that seems like for people who only talk business. Guess, I was wrong, this bunch of people are the most fun, enjoyable, entertaining and a pleasure to have. Time cannot measure friendships but time can tell you if the person is worth having as a friend.
Yes, the night went superbly. We had turkey, salad, potato salad and Indo-Mie!! Henny’s mom brought from Indonesia, so it’s a must have! Wine is a must, liquor is a bonus. And for the first time on Christmas Eve we didn’t indulged in drinking game but had Win, Lose or Draw and Charade. There were two magnificent team; Boys Vs Girls. We were both so competitive; we had to call it a draw! < The girls are definitely going to win if we did continue>

Merry Christmas!

Recently, I got hooked up with Starbucks. I must say, as a regular there, their Xmas promotion did appear attractive to me. Simply just spent, and get a ‘reward’. The idea is trouble-free ; You are given a card, all you need is to complete 15 stickers. Each time you buy – (must be beverages only) you get one sticker. The promotional item up for grab is their Limited Edition 2007 Diary. But soon I realised the ‘effortless’ makes me a Starbucks enthusiasts. I just couldn’t wait to complete my sticker book. It brings back my childhood memories where i used to collect Sailormoon, My Little Pony and CareBears! *Blush* So, whenever i’m looking out for place to hang, I think Starbucks. Whevever i needed a drink, I think Starbucks. Whenever i’m looking for place to work, I think Starbucks.
I hardly fell for advertisements and promotional ‘tactics’ simple because I am an Advertising & Marketing (marketing communication) degree holder. Being exposed to the industry, and executed campaigns for numerous clients, just let’s say, I’m not that naive. But this time, I fell badly for Starbucks’s "deception". I got my first sticker on Nov 21st and I’ve completed 15 stickers on Dec19th.
Given that I only spent RM10 for a beverage to get one sticker, 15 stickers would be:
RM10 x 15 = RM150
I could have bought myself a bottle of perfume, clothes, shoe, accessories, nice dinner or…many many more.
But, I got this:

Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year’07
May God make your year a happy one..
Not by shielding you from all sorrows and pain,
But by strengthening you to bear it, as it comes;
Not by making your path easy,
But by making you sturdy to travel any path;
Not by taking hardships from you,
But by taking fear from your heart;
Not by granting you unbroken sunshine,
But by keeping your face bright, even in the shadows;
Not by making your life always pleasant,
But by showing you when people and their causes need you most,
and by making you anxious to be there to help.
God’s love, peace, hope and joy to you for the year ahead.

Eye of Gold, Thigh of Blue,
True or False, Who is who,
Hide your face, so the world will never find you!
It was a trully glamorous night and an event to remember. It is the time of the year where we commemorate all the good things that had happened. This year, the theme is Masquerade. Ladies came with their evening gowns, gentlemens in suits. Who looks fabulous and who looks frumpy? I’ve got pictures! And none of them turned up frumpy! As predicted by the committee members some did forget to get a mask, therefore 20cents masks are availabl at the reception table.

Isn’t this lovely? Guess who’s behind it.
(Btw, this aint the 20cents mask
