Vain..I’m so Vain

June 5, 2007

For those who knows me, knows my hair well. Yes, it’s long and straight and shinny. Some said healthy.

Some called me Pantene gal, Sunsilk gal…etc. The fact is, i dont use Pantene/Sunsilk. So, i’m generating free advertising for them, maybe i should ask for endorsement fees.

I have friends, family, stalkers, and strangers telling me: “You have such a beautiful hair”, “So shinny” ,“So straight”

And I get this too: “Is it real?” “Can I touch?”

Some even thought that i dont need a comb my hair coz it’s so straight!

Huh????

I dont wake up in the morning looking like this:

People kept asking me for hair tips. The truth is I don’t have one. Some insisted that I have…In that case all i can share with you is my routine.

I wash my hair everyday coz I have oily scalp. Generally, the rule is for oily hair you should wash it every day or every other day and for dry hair only wash it 2-3 times a week.

I hardly stick to one shampoo or conditioner brand. I try rotating it periodically, your hair responds differently to different products.

Conditioner is a must! It’ll moisturize your hair, give it extra protection, add shine, reduce static, and makes it easier to untangle. It’s a nightmare for me to go on trips/holiday without my conditioner. Remember to put the conditioner in at about an inch away from the scalp, the roots of your hair contain the most oils and usually don’t need the extra conditioning.

To add to the bonus, use a leave in conditioner, it’ll hydrate and protect your hair. Your hair is unprotected from the sun, weather, and dust everyday. This will help in maintain a healthy looking hair and hair looks naturally shinier. I have my favorite brand for leave in conditioner. DeLorenzo-Rejuven8 *the ends). Been using it for the past 3 years. It’s an Aussie brand thus you can only get in from Australia. I stocked up when I first came back, now I get my friends to ‘ta pau’ for me :P This one is highly recommended brand. I tried to search for an alternative brand here in Malaysia, but none worth comparing it to.

Be gentle when shampooing and conditioning, don’t use excessive force rubbing your hair, remember hair is most vulnerable when wet.
Therefore, avoid brushing or combing when it’s wet, or else it will cause breakage, wait until your hair is almost completely dry before brushing it.

If you plan on growing your hair you should trim your hair once every 3 months, if not split ends will cause your hair to break off and your hair will begin to lose it’s beauty.

(Gosh, I look like a GHOST!!)

Beside being called a shampoo gal, some of my guy friends called me Ju-On. I know..this is all pure jealousy :P
